How did you get into derby? Why The Outfit? I took up derby after my sons were born and I quickly realized that I didn’t fit in with the Yoga Pants Mafia that rules neighborhood playgrounds with an iron iPhone and a spray-on tan. Also, anyone who knows me will agree that I have a lot of energy and a bit of extra aggression — a treadmill just wouldn’t cut it. I strapped on some skates and eventually found my way to The Outfit — a crew of strong, funny, amazing women. I feel lucky to know them and even luckier to skate with them.

Do you have a partner in crime?/Who are they? Who is your derby wife? Mimi Furst is my derby wife. We’re pretty sure our husbands know.

Random fact about you? In addition to high school English classes, I also teach seminar courses in zombie cinema, zombie pop culture and apocalyptic survival techniques.
