Q: How did you first become involved in roller derby? A: How it all began... My friends (Amy Stone and Kendra Nudd) and I decided to do Derby Lite. I didn't even finish a full session before (my now derby wife) Scream Printer convinced me to try out for the Chicago Outfit. This is my second season with the Outfit and joining was honestly one of the best decisions I have ever made.

Q: What is your favorite thing about the Chicago Outfit? A: My favorite thing about the Chicago Outfit is the people. Amazing people I would have never met if it weren't for derby. The people that volunteer their personal time (ref's, NSO's, bookies, our chiropractor, our Dr., our PT, our acupuncturist and SO many more) are incredibly giving and their efforts do not go unrecognized. The skaters that come to practice 2 to 4 times a week - such awesome dedication. And our fans, thank you fans! We love you and are so grateful that you keep coming to our bouts and crazy events. Without you the Chicago Outfit would not be possible.

Q: What advice do you have for aspiring derby girls? A: My advice for aspiring derby girls? Take care of your body (eat right, work out off skates, and get sleep.) Take care of your mind, derby is just as much mental as physical. (Meditate and visualize obtaining your goals.) But most of all NEVER GIVE UP.

Q: What is your ultimate derby goal? A: My ultimate goal with derby is to be the very best that I can be. I keep a list of short and long term goals. There is always room for improvement. I want to skate as much as possible, but I also want to go to bouts that I am not rostered for and cheer on my team mates. Being supportive to my league is just as important to me as obtaining my personal goals.

Q: What have you learned from skating with the Outfit? A: What have I learned from derby? Shit. What have I not learned from derby. Derby has 100% changed my life. Derby is a metaphor for life. Get knocked down, pick yourself up and try again. It has challenged me, inspired me, frustrated me, knocked me down and picked me up - all within a 2 minute jam. All of this confidence on the track transfers to my personal life and has made me a better person. But none of this would matter without my awesome team mates and my sweet derby wife - Scream! I love you Outfit!
